Umpires & SLCAA Specific Rules
Umpiring and rules are always an important concern for coaches and parents of youth ball players. The SLCAA uses Major League Baseball Official Rules as a base for boys’ rules and ASA Official Rules as a base for girls’ rules. Additionally, the association has published an agreed upon set of modifications for use by all member SLCAA ball parks. Those modifications are contained in our annually published SLCAA Rule book.

League Championship Tie-Breaker Procedures
According to the SLCAA Rule book: If two (2) or more teams are tied for the league championship at the close of the regular SLCAA league schedule, ALL these teams will be declared league champions.
Boys Baseball Tournaments:
Tournaments conducted by SLCAA member associations throughout the year will generally follow SLCAA rules with modifications for the tournaments as outlined by their park/association. The tournament rules used by the SLCAA member association(s) are at the discretion of those parks/associations, and teams should verify the rules with that ball park prior to the tournament start date.
SLCAA Umpire Training:
In an effort to better serve our teams we are providing a free umpire training program. These classes are being taught by certified, experienced umpires. They will cover the following topics as listed below. Those interested in attending the classes must attend the first class on Feb 3rd in order to complete the application and orientation. After that you are free to attend as many or as few classes as desired. However, you must pass the umpire exam at the end of the training program. Those umpires who successfully pass the exam will be noted as SLCAA Certified Umpires and will be able to umpire throughout the SLCAA. Giving them an opportunity to umpire more games and earn more money throughout the year. Questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Classes will be held at: Brignole Community Center 200 St Louis Ave, Valley Park, MO 63088
